Through our commitment to making this process easier, DPHS provides several options to help students fund their degree.

Tuition Support for MPH & MSPH Students

The Department of Public Health Sciences is committed to making graduate education in public health accessible and affordable. All incoming MPH and MSPH students enrolling in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 will receive up to $60,000 in tuition waiver support.

  • No separate application is required
  • Awarded at the time of admission
  • Applied directly toward tuition throughout the program

Students who receive the maximum tuition waiver of $60,000 can expect to pay approximately $55,000 total for the full program, representing a substantial reduction in overall tuition cost. This level of support reflects our commitment to investing in your success and ensuring that a graduate degree in public health remains attainable.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition for the 2025-2026 academic year is $2,644 per graduate credit hour.

Total tuition will vary depending on enrollment and program structure. Tuition rates are subject to change in accordance with the University of Miami Board of Trustees.

Student Employment Opportunities

Many graduate students work part-time while completing their degree.

  • Opportunities available within the Department, University of Miami, and UHealth system Positions include administrative roles, research assistantships, and teaching assistantships Students may work up to 20 hours per week

Teaching assistant roles may also include stipends based on academic performance.

The University of Miami Office of Financial Assistance administers federal financial aid.

To apply:

  • Submit your application through SOPHAS
  • Complete the FAFSA (Federal School Code: 001536)
  • Accept your offer and register for classes
  • Review and accept your financial aid package in CaneLink

Due to recent updates to federal student loan programs, the University of Miami has established Preferred Lender agreements with select private lenders.
